Today we were visited by Quantum theatre and their performance of The Countback Kid. This kicked off our western themed fortnight with a story which included lots of maths learning opportunities. What did you think of it Class 5?
This morning we went to Abbot Beyne secondary school, to do a marketing morning. We were given orange pieces of card with numbers 1 to 20. This is because they wanted us to make friends with other people from different schools. We MADE CAKES!!!!!!!!!!! Once we were in our groups we spilt into our jobs: Designers, Brand Directors, Marketing Directors, and Advertisement Directors. Designers drew and created the cakes, Brand Directors designed the logo, Marketing Directors did all the maths, and the Advertisement Directors did all of the posters and leaflets. Then at the end we all came together in the hall and they announced the winner sadly it wasn’t my group, then we got to eat our cakes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we were visited by Magical Mayhem who wowed us with his world of wonder. This was linked to the book we have been reading in class: Leon and the Place Between. The picture above shows Lexis helping with part of a trick.
The picture below shows Year 5 and 6 boys enjoying themselves a bit too much!
Today was the first day of Year 6 and we returned to lots of changes in school: either children have a new member of staff or a new classroom. This photograph shows the recipients of the Gold Star award for reading two hundred times. Well done to Jude, Nancy and Jade for this achievement. That was three out of twenty Year 6 children. What is that as a percentage? Team point for the first correct answer.
